DEVELOPING

The «International Center for Neutron Research based on high-flux research reactor PIK» project (hereinafter – the ICNR PIK) is created in the NRC «Kurchatov Institute» in Gatchina, Leningrad oblast and is focused on fundamental and applied complementary research in the sphere of physics, chemistry, biology, Earth sciences, materials science, process control products, works on the development of technologies of micro - and nanoelectronics, isotope production, elemental analysis of samples and products for medical purposes.

PIK reactor will be one of the largest research reactors in Europe and the only one in Russia really close to the realization of a modern high-flux neutron source.

ICNR PIK is created in the form of Russian-German non-profit partnership with the possibility of the future accession of other countries.
